What 8 million comments actually revealed
Three things jumped out once we counted every recommendation:
- Reddit is obsessed with headphones, keyboards, and coffee. Those three categories dominate the raw mention counts by a wide margin — they’re the hobbies people research to death.
- The cheap pick usually wins. The most-recommended chef’s knife is a $45 Victorinox. The most-recommended skillet is a $25 Lodge. Expensive rarely correlates with “most trusted.”
